Hello from Singapore / Indonesia

Am Elina, Indonesian by citizenship, but currently lives in Singapore. I was a public relations consultant in Indonesia, but for the past year decided to stay unemployed so I could focus on other things that I really care about but haven't got the time to take care of, like working with the youth and music team in the church, preparing for the Mennonite World Conference's Global Youth Summit in Paraguay next year, and continuing to encourage intergenerational dialog in Asian churches.

I am now member of Mennonite Church Singapore, a small but growing church of about 80 people. It falls into what many people would call a "charismatic" church, although I prefer to say that this church simply allows its leaders and members to exercise their spiritual gifts :-)

I guess at some point we get to discuss more about this charismatic and conservative churches ... not to point out the differences between the two, but to highlight what one can learn from each other :-)
